We’ve worked in the corporate world ourselves, so we know what kind of pressure you’re under. Deadlines matter, the pace is relentless, and competitors are clamouring to take a piece of your business. When you work with us, we try to make content marketing as painless as possible for you. You might even get out of the office on time once in a while!
Our approach to working with clients usually boils down to these seven steps:
Step 1 – Discovery
First we sit down and speak with you by phone or Skype to understand the goals of your content marketing project, a little about your industry and your audience, your desired timeline and budget, your competition, and if necessary the current state of your content marketing strategy.
Step 2 – Creative Brief
Based on our discussion with you, we put together a short summary, similar to what ad agencies call a “creative brief”, to make sure we’re all on the same page for the scope of the project. You have a quick look at the brief– which is typically just one page– and suggest any changes or modifications.
Step 3 – Quotation
We send you a quotation or a proposal for the work which includes project pricing, timelines, and contingencies (such as timely access to your subject-matter experts.
Step 4 – Go Ahead
When you’re ready to give the go-ahead for the project, send us a signed quotation or proposal and 50% of the fee.
Step 5 – Research
Then we get down to work. We request background material on your product, your audience, your competitors, and your current content marketing pieces and sales collateral. We also request access to your tech teams or product managers to get the detailed marketing and subject-matter expertise we need to create great content. We may also ask for a quick phone call with one of your sales staff or account managers to get their view of the customer’s needs and state of mind.
Step 6 – First Draft
After extensive research and consideration of the best way to approach the content, we write and deliver the first draft of your piece.
Step 7 – Revisions and Final Delivery
If necessary, and provided the scope of the project does not change, we deliver up to two revisions if we receive them within 30 days of delivering the first draft. Once we’re done, we send an invoice for the remaining 50% of the payment.
A word about pricing…
How much do we charge? It depends on the project, of course, and all quotations are by the project, not by the hour. Our content marketing experts have many years of technical and copywriting training, so you get expert-level content creation and marketing. So we’re not a shop that writes a 250-word article for $5. Yet we are far less expensive than hiring an in-house team, and most of our clients find us surprisingly affordable. And getting a quotation doesn’t cost you a dime. So get in touch with us today to get started…!
